The organisation of JTB is nothing short of superb workmanship

Hello Yoko,
How many people come to Japan hoping to see Mt Fuji as we did. And the cherry blossom in full bloom. The weather has been good with only 1 day of rain & a bit of a sprinkle yesterday morning.
Keiran is a wonderful tour host give him more trips & I’ll go on them in actual fact we all will.
The different foods he has introduced on most of the free nights. And he has helped me no end with my diet. The tour escort Akiko Shimada in Tokyo was excellent too.
She also gave me “No Wheat” written in Japanese that I have used when eating by myself.
Hotels are wonderful & the welcome dinner was the best i’ve ever had inc 3 who didn’t want to stop drinking the sake by the bottlee.
How they woke up in the morning I don’t know.
The organisation of JTB & Keirin’s is nothing short of superb workmanship.

Thank you for all your effort

Dear Lily;
We had a phantastic time at Niseko, the accommodation at the Vale was excellent as it offered a very spacious lounge with kitchen and dining as well as two very comfortable bedrooms with beautiful views to the slopes and Mount Youthie. The location of the Vale is also very convenient. Overall we had good weather and fine snow. However the biggest discovery was the friendlyness of the japanese people, they were just so kind and helpful wherever you went and we found them so accommodating. Please promote it as every visitor will enjoy the overwhelming japanese hospitality.
After one week in Niseko we had a nice time in Tokyo at the Prince Hotel in Shinigawa, again a great and convenient location to get around in Tokyo which is just so exciting with all the variety it can offer. No problem to go by train everywhere. We also went to the fishmarket at 5.00 am in the morning and had a beautiful fish breakfast with all the delicacies what a unique place in the world.
However the highlight for me was the train ride on the bullet train to Kyoto and Hiroshima, what an experience, but that is just the daily life for the working people.
For me Kyoto is a beautiful city including the surroundings, again very friendly people and unbelievable culture unfortunately we could not make it to the “SUMO Wrestling”. Kyoto was very peaceful and relaxing.
Our final destination was Hiroshima where we stayed at the RIHGA ROYAL HOTEL close to the A-Bomb Dome and the Peace Museum. This is the most impressive  location one can visit to find peace in yourself. Everyone has to visit this place to learn how we should shape the world for our future, the we will realize we cannot continue as we are now as we have to seek and find peace for this world. Again we just indulged in the kindness of the japanese folkes.
After two days Hiroshima we returned to Tokyo for an ovenight stay at the Prince Hotel and again enjoyed the busy atmosphere.
We left on Sunday 18 March and can only find praise for the time we spent in Japan  and are looking forward to discover more.
Therefore please help us to find more beautiful spots in the country where we can meet more local people.
I would like to thank you for all your effort to make all the necessary arrangements for our holiday you just have made it so good for our journey.
looking forward to planning our next holiday during 2013/14 to Japan.
Kindest regards from
Werner

We had the most amazing time in Japan

Hey Clem

Just wanted to write and say we had the most amazing time in Japan. It was so diverse everything we did. We loved the hotel in Kyoto great position and so nice….we felt grubby arriving there with a backpacks after a week snowboarding and staying in a hostel.

Everything with the transfer and JR Pass was easy to work out. The Mt Fuji trip was good too just a pity it was shy that day!! We also made it to Osaka and managed to get Sumo Tickets and it was a lot of fun to watch.

I even managed to eat more then just sushi with my allergies which was nice too haha

Kind Regards,

Sarah

You will be the first person I call

Hi Kathy’
I would also like to say thank you for what was an extremely well organised getaway. With respect to the destination and resort you matched the brief perfectly. Just as important the organisation was faultless with everything happening seamlessly. I have had the good fortune of hosting several of these trips in the past and all agreed this was the best –in fact the gauntlet was thrown down as to whether or not I could come up with anything in the future to equal or surpass it. I would also like to add that the people on the ground in Bali were very good—everything happened exactly as it should have.

Hopefully we will be doing the same thing next year and you will be the first person I call.

Regards,

John

Hi Emerald,

We returned home this week from Furano.
We really enjoyed our time away and I wanted to thank you for your organisation of the trip. I would certainly recommend JTB Australia to others and if, in the future, we are able to return to Japan, you will be our first point of contact.

Thank you for your organisation

Hi Clem,

We had a great time in Japan – thank you for your organisation – everything went well.

Snow depth 260cm which is great, no tow queues, fantastically good; except a couple at the weekends.

Skiing conditions: Shiga Kogen, could not ask for better snow or better grooming. Suited us fine as we could ski from one area to the next.
Accommodation: The Prince Hotel East branch was for us an up market hotel. The views from our room were great. We had taken the dinner meal package in the hope of being introduced to various Japanese meals. This part was disappointing as the Japanese meal was shabu shabu each night. However, there was a Japanese influence in the western food they served.

Hakuba: snow conditions not as good as Shiga Kogen as the skiing area is quite a bit lower, hence the snow was not so good for several days but then improved. A steeper area, and the westerners preferred to ski at Happo One, or those that like powder skied at Cortina. We skied other areas and you could count on one hand the number of non Japanese. There is a very good snow boarders park at Happo 47, and also this area was mainly skied by snow boarders. A down side to Hakuba from our point of view was that the resorts are not interlinked, and you need a different ticket for each area.

Now you know lots about skiing in Japan you can go.

A couple of general thoughts: Competence with chopsticks is essential, luckily not a problem for us, so we did not starve.
Warmed toilet seats are a great plus in ski areas. The whole toilet set up is a plumbers delight!
It was great to have some English translations, but surprisingly quite a number were so poor, you could not understand the message. Surprising because the Japanese are so precise and meticulous in all areas. I do not mean this as a criticism, because there is no reason why they should put up signs for foreigners.

Thank you once again Clem, we are sure we will visit Japan again.

Cheers

Carla

Thank you for organising our holiday to Japan

Hi Yoshi,

Just wanted to say thank you for organising our holiday to Japan.

We loved Japan. Had a great holiday and enjoyed every minute we were away.
We loved Tokyo and the skiing in Zao. You were right, there was lots of snow.

Going on the trains worked out really well. We found the Japan pass really good and easy to organise seats and get around on the train was a great way to travel. All the extra information was really good knowing where to go on the different train stations, so thank you for that.

We loved our japanese style room in Zao. We loved Zao and the skiing. The hotel was really good. We loved that it was ski in and out, perfect for us. And we walked from the hotel into town, not far at all.

Anyway thank you for everything you organised and organising our bus transfer tickets/vouchers when we were there. We had a great time. We would love to go back to Japan some time, with the kids. So will get in touch when that time comes.

Thank you again.

Kind Regards

Everything went really well

Hi Olivia,

We are back now from a highly enjoyable ski trip to Myoko. Everything went really well. My only piece of feedback for new travellers is to take the phone number for the Myoko tourist office with them (they have english speakers).

We got stuck in Nagano because the trains were not running to Myoko because of heavy snow.  I placed a call to the Myoko tourist office from Nagano and they were able to advise me to get on the train to Kurohime (most of the way to Myoko) and from there they had arranged for the  Hotel Alp owners and other tourist office staff  to drive new arrivals to their accommodation.  Fantastic, otherwise we were stuck in Nagano instead of skiing.  Taxis were very hard to get because of the snow conditions and demand.

thanks and regards
Michael

Thank you for an excellent holiday

Dear Yoshi

A belated thank you for an excellent holiday.

All went very well and the arrangements were smooth.  The Japanese people seemed even more polite than before, if that is possible, and we greatly enjoyed our trip.  There was a lot of snow in Nozawa – actually, it pretty much snowed the whole time we were there, and we really enjoyed both the Grand Hotel and the other Hotel to which we moved.

So, thanks again for all your work on this.  We appreciated your assistance and advice.

Thanks :-)
