It is of our opinion that Japan is still one of the safest countries to travel to and around, given the high level hygienic practices the country is commonly renowned for, that have so far resulted in some of the slowest spread of COVID-19 seen globally. Situational reports can be accessed here, with daily updates showing a statistically very low growth in comparison to the population.
Update - 31/03/2020 - COVID-19 AND TRAVEL - Do not travel overseas at this time. If you wish to return home, do so as soon as possible.
In light of this, we are continuously revising our cancellation terms and conditions to be applied moving forward. In the event of any cancellations for trips departing on and from 1 April to 31 July 2020, standard cancellation fees will apply. Alternatively, due to the current situation you have the option of holding the paid amount of your travel in credit with JTB to be used for future travel, without cancellation or amendment fees. This credit will be valid for departures until 31 December 2021. If this credit or any part of this credit is not used, standard cancellation fees will apply. These terms apply to cancellation requests received from 0900 AEDT on Wednesday 1st April, until further notice. As the situation develops, these terms may be revisited, and the period of travel may be adjusted. Any supplier levies will continue to be passed on, however we will do our best to negotiate waivers of fees due to cancellations in accordance with advice from DFAT, where possible
We sincerely wish for all Australians to be well in the coming months, and look forward to moving past this challenging time. For those still excited to go, we’re with you all the way!
