Spring time is one of the most popular seasons to travel to Japan. The Cherry blossom season starts from around early March south of Kyushu and works its way up north to Hokkaido finishing in late May. Each year, starting in mid September, the “koyo front” slowly moves southwards from northern Hokkaido stretching right through central and southern Japan, peaking in November. Autumn colours can be viewed right up until early December. Summer is when many interesting festivals and other events are held all over the country and Japan bursts with fun! A great time to escape the Australian winter chill. Winter is quite dry and sunny along the pacific coast and temperature rarely drops below 0 degrees. However the temperature drops as you move north through Central and Northern regions experiencing snowfall. The Ski seasons peaks during January and February.
