Follow a smooth route to a low-key Kaga Yuzen studio where two artisans and their apprentices are still creating by hand today. Before you go in, your guide gives you a quick, easy primer on what makes Kaga Yuzen special—what to notice, the tools, and how the process flows. Inside the workshop, hear the craft’s mindset from a senior master, then get practical painting tips from the next generation. You’ll even try a small step yourself, sharing parts of the process as a group—so you don’t just “watch,” you actually get it. Then slow things down with matcha in a hidden samurai house, taking in a quiet garden many locals call Kanazawa’s best.
Iki & Hana: Riverside to Higashi Chaya + Inside a Real Geisha House
Walk along the Asano River—once tied to the tradition of rinsing dyed fabrics—toward the soft glow of Higashi Chaya District. You’ll feel the atmosphere shift from the samurai house: more intimate and elegant, with a sense of occasion. Step inside an authentic geisha house (Shima) to learn the world of “hana” (brilliance) and “iki” (refined style) shared by geiko and their guests—sometimes even samurai. The tour ends perfectly before lunch or dinner; for morning tours your guide shares lunch and extra experience picks, and for afternoon tours they’ll recommend great local dinner spots.

Due to stairs, narrow passages, and limited accessibility in some areas, this tour is not suitable for guests with mobility issues, wheelchairs, or strollers.
As this is a walking tour, please wear comfortable shoes suitable for long distances.
We will visit Buddhist temples and Shinto shrines—please wear respectful clothing.
Please bring rain gear in case of light rain; the tour will proceed unless conditions are unsafe.
The itinerary order may change depending on traffic, weather, or facility operations. If any place is closed, an alternative location will be arranged.
The tour may be cancelled in case of severe weather for safety reasons.
The tour operates every Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday, except from 31 December 2026 to 1 January 2027.
