Hokkaido Summer Holiday Short Guided Tour

These tours are a combination of day tours which also includes your accommodation in each city and transportation. English speaking guides are included during site seeing and assistants at points of transfers (except while on board bullet trains).

Pickup Service
Gather at tour meeting point.

Sunagawa Highway Oasis (15 min)
The tour will stop by this rest area located halfway between Sapporo and Sunagawa. Enjoy shopping for specialty products from all over Hokkaido and other items at the shop.

Asahiyama Zoo (150 min)
The northernmost zoo in Japan. The zoo is famous for its unique and interactive enclosures which allow visitors to see animals up close in their natural state. It has become known as one of Hokkaido’s best sightseeing spots, and receives flocks of visitors from not only Japan but overseas as well. Feel free to have lunch at your preferred time. There are several restaurants on site.

Hokkaido Ice Pavilion (40 min) 
Have fun at the world’s first large-scale “Cold Experience” attraction. Enter a world entirely covered with ice, and experience various activities and phenomenon such as the -41°C room which is the same temperature as the coldest day ever recorded in Japan, and “diamond dust” which forms from moisture in the air. 

Ryusei and Ginga Waterfalls (15 min) 
Enjoy both of these waterfalls in the same spectacular view at Sounkyo. This pair of waterfalls is collectively referred to as Meotodaki, or “husband and wife waterfalls,” and can be viewed simultaneously. The Ryusei Waterfall features a powerful stream of water which drops about 90 meters, also known as Otokodaki or the male waterfall. The Ginga Waterfall begins at a height of 121 meters and is flayed into many fine threads partway down, giving it a womanly appearance.

17:30 Sounkaku Grand Hotel 
Arrive at the hotel. Savor a Japanese/Western buffet for dinner at the hotel restaurant. The guestroom will be a Japanese-style room. Enjoy relaxing in the hot spring bath.

Sounkyo Kurodake Ropeway (60 min)
Visit Daisetsuzan, a mountain known for its abundant nature and unparalleled scenery. Take the ropeway to the 5th Station of Mount Kuro, the highest peak in the area and take a walk around. Visitors can get a good view of the surrounding Daisetsuzan mountains here at 1,300 meters.

Biei Patchwork Road (40 min)
The combined seasonal colors of the fields here create a brilliant patchwork-like scenery. The tour will see several famous trees in the area, some of which were featured in TV commercials or shows. The bus will drive by the “Ken & Mary” Tree and “Parent-Child” Tree, and make stops at the “Sevenstar” Tree and Hokusei-no-Oka Park.

Shirogane Blue Pond (30 min)
A mystical atmosphere is in the air at this famous blue-colored pond which receives many visitors.

Lunch
Savour the local specialties of Hokkaido on a buffet featuring 25 kinds of dishes.

Farm Tomita
The words “summer in Hokkaido” bring one place to mind in particular: Farm Tomita. Aside from the numerous flower fields, there is also a cafe and a shop. Spend the time here as you like, taking photos, shopping, enjoying an ice cream or checking out one of the other attractions.

Furano Cheese Factory (30 min)
This cheese factory located amidst rich nature lets visitors observe the cheese-making process and see the room where cheese is aged. Taste some sweets, try some dairy products or go shopping.

18:40 Sahoro Resort Hotel
Arrive at the hotel. Savor a buffet or Japanese-style set meal for dinner at the hotel restaurant. All-you-can-eat melon can be enjoyed in July and August. The guestroom will be a Western-style room.

Shichiku Garden (60 min)
This garden is home to colourful flowers from about 2,500 varieties that bloom throughout the seasons. Be enchanted by Hokkaido’s vast scenes capes not just in the gorgeous garden, but also with views of the Hidaka Mountains in the distance and the seemingly endless wheat fields and potato fields stretching out as far as the eye can see.

Ryugetsu Sweetpia Garden (30 min)
Tokachi, an area known for agriculture, is the location of Ryugetsu’s factory and sweets shop, both of which will be visited on this tour.

Lunch
Savour a delicious pork rice bowl, butadon, which originated in Tokachi.

Chitose Outlet Mall Rera (90 min)
Please enjoy shopping at this outlet mall.

Tour concludes at New Chitose Airport or Sapporo Station around 18:00.
