Description

The Gion Yoshi-ima Ryokan in Kyoto is a family run traditional Japanese inn a short walk from the Yasaka Shrine in Kyoto's old town. It is close to Sanjo Train Station, Gion and popular tourist spots.

The ryokan itself is an oasis of calm tranquillity where you can relax and escape from the outside world. Enjoy the friendly service and Japanese interiors that capture the atmosphere of old Japan. There's a public bath where you can soak and soothe weary muscles after a long day of sightseeing. You can also go one step further and book a massage service. There is free Wi-Fi for you to enjoy throughout the inn. The ryokan offers luggage storage, laundry and dry cleaning services.

The rooms are Japanese-style and include comfortable futon bedding, shoji paper screens and traditional tatami mat flooring. Guests can enjoy a traditional Japanese multi-course dinner (Kaiseki) that features food that's native to the region including fresh seafood. The staff are multilingual. Dinner and breakfast is included.

The ryokans beautiful gardens and tea ceremonies (three times a week) are a wonderful way to appreciate Japan's rich cultural history.
